We waisted a lot of time today trying to catch tiny sharks and only fished 3 hours for marlin where we had a bite of a 600 pound blue on the Andromeda that went deep probably failhooked and pulled the hook after 20 minutes.

The fish are back !

We started at 1 pm and first had a bite of a white marlin a bit later we hooked a 700+ blue that came of after a 20 minute fight just 50 meters from the boat . After that Björn caught

a 350 pound blue

on the Andromeda Legendlure , the same lure that the other fish eate We raised a couple of sailfish as well and caught a 300 pound threshershark on the mooring.

We had a quiet day until 5pm when we raised a 700 -800 pounder that didn´t seem excitet at all and faded off. Half an hour later a bigger fish came agressively to the RPP and I thought she had it allready when she suddenly shot off to the side and dissapeared She must have seen something more interesting. We also had a bite of a sailfish and caught dorados.

Another excellent day in Ascension !

We caught 3 for 3 bites today !

The first one was a 250 pounder on the RPP. An hour later a big mama came up behind the Fox lure and after I spead the boat up two knots she eate it. Another long fast run on the surface and forward chasing followed until Colin finally got the leader on the totally green girl . He had a hard time to get her under control and finally the hook bend and freed her.

This fish was big and we called her "950" pounds !?

After that we caught another smalish marlin on the RPP and had a bite from a sailfish.

Still marlin around !

Andy caught a 550 pounder on the Black Bart RPP that got hooked in the dorsal and gave a very hard fight.

Before we pulled the hook on a 400 pounder that took the Andromeda (Legendlures) We also had 4 bites of sailfish and caught two wahoos and a dorado.

We had an excellent day today !!!

We caught 3 blues out of 4 bites !

The first one that we missed was a 200 pounder that knocked down the Grimmel by Bonze.

After that a big fish eate the same Fox lure that we caught the first fish on on monday. I chaced that fish 3 miles forward until we finally got close to her

I´m back on ascension running the Harmattan together with Colin and we had our first fishingday today. We trolled for six hours and Stefano caught a 300 pounder on the Bonze Grimmel .

We also caught some Dorados and some jacks on spinninggear.

We caught a couple of small yellowfin and dorados inshore today. We only fished 3 hours for marlin and saw nothing interesting except very rough seas !

Today I started fishing with Heinz and Roland. Matthias got stuck in the canaries and will probably arrive in the next days.

We raised a 500 pound blue marlin on the Bonze "Grimmel" but we couldn´t get a bite out of her. My website will be updated daily now until end of march !

Today was our last day for this trip and we had a good finish ! Nice calm weather and a 750 pound blue on the braziliano for Clive finished off a nice week of fishing.

Peter caught a 300 pounder today on the blue breakfast and we raised another fish around 400 that came behind a lure faded away and 30 seconds later it jumped twice 100 meters behind the spread not having touched anything !

Still unusually many blue marlin here for this time of the year !

We had two bites from blues wich were really agressive attacks but no hookups.One was around 300 ( Hawaian breakfast) and the otherone about 600 pounds (Bart Superplunger).Shortly after we had the bite of the 600 I saw an enormes dorsal and tail quit far behind the spread. We had another knockdown of a small billfish of wich I´m not certain what it was.

The wild hooker saw 8 blue marlin of wich they had 6 in their spread and got four bites .

They caught only one around 800 pounds. All their bites were crashbites too and they use double hooksets with taglines compared to our long singel hooks with a small dropback.

Both systhems have the same results.

Today was our turn !

We caught a 200 pounder just after leaving the pierhead on the hawaian breakfast. In the afternoon we caught a 250 pounder on the same lure and in the evening we hooked a better fish on the hawaian breakfast again after it crashed the brasiliano and came off .

The 650 pounder finally fell of the hook 1 meter from me reaching the leader but we still enjoyed the show she put up.

The wild hooker only raised a 300 pounder and had a couple of sailfish up ( as we had as well by the way)

The wild hooker had 4 bites of blues today ! The first one they pulled the hook on was according to Oskie "a very nice one " he was not willing to tell any size. After that they missed two rats and in the evening the finally caught a 850 to 900 pounder .

Today was our last day of the season and we saw some action at last !

First Wolfgang pulled the hook on a 400 pounder that eate the blue breakfast.

We raised a simillar size fish two hours later but no bite.

In the afternoon Hermann caught a 300 pounder on the blue breakfast again and in the evening we had another bite on the chrome enki !

That was it for this year from here. Harmattan fishes another 2 weeks.

After that we got a bite of 300 pound marlin on the22 chrome enki , faught the fish for 15 minutes and pulled the hook just under the boat.

Very different to yesterday.

We saw our first blue around 11 but no bite. After that we saw some nice feedingfrenzy of 60 pound yellowfins and got one bite out of them . Naturally we pulled the hook even on a tuna !Then around noon we raised another small blue with the same result a few minutes later a decent fish jumped close to the 22 crome enki missed it and came back .Watching the dorsal of this potantial marlin it looked strangely round and I realised it was a 400 pound mako that finally bit the lure.Unfortunately Manfred also managed to get rid of this one very quickly.( Not his fault at all just kidding !!! )

We had lots of bites of sailfish and finally Manfred caught a 100 pound one on the hawaian breakfast.

In the evening we saw a 200 pounder freefeeding on a dorado or rainbowrunner and we could see him swallow his pray right next to our lures.

Then we got a bite of a 300 pounder on the Krakatao that also pulled off after 50 meters. Harmattan caught two small blues for 5 bites and raised one more and a sail .

We had another good day of billfishimg .We first raised a fish around 300 pounds that didn´t bite. A bit later we had a bite of a similar size fish on the 22 Chrome Enki but it came off 3 times. Inbetween we had two doubleheaders of sailfish but non of them got stuck either. Than Harry caught his first blue marlin a 250 pounder that took the crome 22 Enki.

After that Günther caught another small blue marlin on the hawaian breakfast.

Harmattan went 0/2 and raised two more.

Around noon Matthias caught two blues within an hour (300 and 400)

An hour later we got a bit of a 500+ on the Krakatao but unfortunately the fish shook the hook of its bill just before we could get the leader.

A bit later we caught a 200 pounder on the abaco prowler.

After a period of slow fishing we had a good day again !

We saw way more skippies then the last days today and at 3 pm we got a doubleheader of blue marlin on !

I couldn´t believe it after all these days of riding around .

One fish took the Krakatao but just after Manfred got to the chair the fish came off.

Now it was Franz´s time who grabed the rod with the hawaian breakfast and this 700 pound lady stayed connected and put up a great show of jumps !

As we had the fish at the boat another marlin of simillar size followed it and stayed very close until we released her friend. For shure we had a lure out imidiately but no response.

Heinrich caught his first blue marlin of around 150 pound at 1 pm . It bit the 1656angle.At around 4pm a 500 pounder hit the Krakatao and was quickly caught by Kurt.

Matthias had one bite and saw anoterone in front of the boat .

We went 1 for two bites today . A very agressive small marlin tried to eat the hawaian breakfast 4 times but still never got hooked.

In the evening we caught a 650 pounder on our way home. I was just doing the last circle around a school of skipjacks when she hit the abaco prowler.

Matthias caught a 450 pounder and pulled the hook on a small one.

We fished 6 hours today and got a bite of a 500 pound blue around 5 pm on the black 22baselisk but pulled the hook 2meters from reaching the leader.

Anotherone bites the hook !

On his last day Georg caught another nice size ascension blue marlin. The 700 pounder eate the hawaian breakfast around 1pm and was quickly caught after a surface fight with some nice jumps.

Matthias caught 2 around 300 pounds today and had two more bites of better size fish so it looks like there are some around now. Tommorrow nobody fishes.

Finally we had a good day marlinfishing again !

We went out at 11 and after half an hour a 700 pound blue crashed the Krakatao (legendlures) and after a hard deep fight Georg finally caught his first ascension blue !

We kept on trolling in flat calm weather and at 1.30 pm we got another crashbite on the hawaian breakfast (Black Bart ) George also caught this 400 pound marlin

and we finished the day with some more yellowfins on the mooring !

We saw nothing trolling today and caught some amberjacks jigging.

Matthias caught a nice 700 pound marlin.

We did a late start today and raised 1 blue about 500 pounds but no bite again !

In the evening we caught yellowfins on the mooring.

Finally the wheather was normal again and we had a decent number of marlin in the area !

First Matthias raised a nice one around 11 we saw our first blue at 1pm but the 500+ fish was not in the mood and stayed deep under the blue breakfast ,faded off and came back after a turn . We tried to tease her but no chance.In the afternoon Matthias had bite also of a nice one and pulled him off again.

We saw one fish swimming parallel with the boat wich never came to the spread and raised anotherone wich almost tried to bite the Krakatao but then decided that this would be too much work ! It´s good to see them back here now they just have to change there behaviour !

We fished half a day for marlin but saw nothing interesting.

On the mooring we caught tuna , oilfish and two sixgills.

We had a bite of a very small billfish (sail or spearfish) today and some attacks from dorados that was it .

We started late today and saw a couple of small tunas but no billfish.

On our mooring Henrik and Kent caught Yellowfins and amberjacks and lost three sixgills.

Today was our last fishingday of this season ! We trolled inshore most of the time and caught yellowfins,Rainbowrunners and skippies. So our final result is 36 blue marlin from 71 bites (51%)(average of the estimated weights 490 pounds) and raised 23 more that didn´t bite in about 48 days marlinfishing . We also caught around 15 sailfish on the marlinlures (not targeting them) We had two marlin defenetly 900+. I didn´t count yellowfins ,dorados, wahoos and all the other smaller species we caught but their are lots of them. Harmattan will fish another two weeks .They caught 29 blues so far. We didn´t fish for marlin today. We caught loads of jacks on poppers and yellowfin tuna trolling inshore. On the mooring we also caught yellowfin and a sixgill shark

Our morning was quiet again. At 1 pm we got or first contact with a sailfish and it didn´t stick. We had a 400 poud blue coming up behind the 1656 angel but the fish was just to lazy to touch it. From now on we had two more bites of blue marlin ,1 small one on the 1656 and a 600 pounder on the blue breakfast wich was the only agressive bite today. It came from the side with an open mouth but still got the hook around the bill and shook it off, came back and knocked it one more time that was it. We also raised another two blues never even comming close to the lures. Harmattan caught a 150 pound blue marlin and pulled the hook on anotherone and also saw some sails.

We started late today and raised one blue marlin that stayed for a minute behind different lures but no matter what I did this thing would come closer than 3 foot to the lures. In the evening we caught tuna,oilfish and an 800 pound sixgill shark.

After a quiet morning we fishing ascension s SE side we found the blue marlin in the late afternoon in english bay. At 3 30 we caught a 250 pounder on the 22 quickchange Baselisk.

After that we had a couple of sailfish up and two tried to eat our gogleeye pitchbait but didn´t get hooked. A bit Later we caught a 300 pound blue on the same lure and a quater to six we hooked a 400 pound bluemarlin on the orange Lava Ruckus.

After some nice jumps the fish was released quickly. Matthias caught 1 blue marlin and a sailfish and missed 1 more blue. Olaf Grimkowski

Lots of billfish around the island again.We were fishing ascension s SW and we had lots of knockdowns from sailfish and one got hooked for a short while . It took plenty of line on a 130 and until it jumped I thought it was a blue just like yesterday. At two we caught a 350 pound blue marlin on the 22 quickchange Baselisk . Matthias pulled the hook on a 300 pounder and raised anotherone.

We found a way to drive around the marlin today without getting any contacts. We caught a nice size sailfish that took line like a marlin. It bit on the orange Lava Ruckus from Marlin Magic.

We started early today but nothing until 10 . Then we caught a sailfish on the super projet and just before we wanted to go in we got a bite of a 600 pound marlin on the blue breakfast. The fish jumped imidiatly and shook the hook of.Olaf Grimkowski

The sailfish were back in numbers and we caught one of them on the 16 quickchange Baselisk.

Most of the sailfish had gone today and there were not as many marlin as the last 3 days but we still caught a 600 pounder on the Kona Projet (Blackbart).

Like the last days the fish was very strong for its size and made the angler sweat a lot.

Another day of billfishaction today! We had lots of contacts to sailfish again and around 3pm a 600 pound blue came up on the 16 Baselisk and realy tried to eat it It grabed it but came off quickly. It still wanted it badly and windsceenwiped behind it so I tried to drop it in her mouth the same happend as before and the fish went to the Kona projet and eat that . We were connected for ten minutes before the hook came off close to the boat. Bad luck but very exiting to see.I think there was another blue marlin in the spread at the same time. After that we only had a few more bites of sailfish. Matthias caught a sailfish and a 300 pound blue simultaniusly and had two more bites from small blues and raised two more. Olaf Grimkowski

There was still lots of aktion in the SW of ascension fishing from 10.30 the aktion only started at 1pm. That was when we saw the first group of sailfish but they were behaving like yesterday and hardly showed any interest. We raised a couple and had two knockdowns.Within the sails we got a bite of a small blue on the Hawaian Breakfast but no hookup. At 3.30 we hooked a 250 pounder on the 22Baselisk that put up an amasing fight I couldn´t believe it when I saw the size of it.The sailfish went down and at 5.30 we hooked another blue marlin on the 22 quickchange Baselisk .The fish took loads of line so a turned the boat on it. After another strong fight we released the 450 pounder.

I saw one more blue cruising infront of the boat.2/3 again. Matthias caught a 300 pounder and raised anotherone.

We had a very nice day today ! There was life everywhere in the water dolfins,dorados,skippys,loads of sailfish and blue marlin ! We started at 11 and we hooked a 300 pound blue marlin on the Lava Baby Ruckus (Marlin Magic) very soon.

We caught that one and imidiatly after the first lure was in the water a sailfish tryed to eat it.

One hour later we caught a 250 pounder on the hawaian breakfast. We saw sailfish feeding on small gogleyes allmost all the time but most of them didn´t show any interest in our lures. Half an hour after the last marlin we raised one around 300 but it didn´t bite.We had one more bite of a blue on the baby Ruckus but it didn´t stick.We ended up with 2/3 blue marlin + 1 raised. We had about 5 knockdowns on sailfish and saw countless amounts of them. Matthias caught 2/5 on blue marlin (250)and (800) and one sailfish out of x ? Olaf Grimkowski

We started at 10.30 today and had a bite of a sailfish at 2 pm .We raised another two and at 3 30 we raised a 800+ blue marlin . It showed up behind the "large Hardhead" (Marlin Magic) for a second and faded away.

A bit later we caught a 300 pound blue marlin on the same lure. At five we raised another blue arround 500 pounds. It showed its dorsal ,went away and came back after a turn but then faded off also.

Matthias had a 57 kg Amberjack today caught on a jig ! Olaf Grimkowski

We did some inshore fishing today and caught lots of amberjacks jigging.In the evening we caught a sixgill and oilfish. There was lots of gogleeyes arround so I´m hoping for some good action the next days.Matthias raised 4 sailfish and caught dorados... inshore.

We fished the SW of ascension in the morning and saw nothing in the late afternoon we raised a small blue on the Baselisk and got a bite from a sailfish later. In the evening we saw the first interesting tunafeed of this season. They were up to 100 pounds but we didn´t get any bites.

SHY III started fishing ascension s west at 11. At noon we got a bite of a sailfish on the hawaian breakfast. At 2.30 a small blue attacked the "large hard head" (marlinmagic) came off and tried the quickchange Baselisk 22 btu didn´t get hooked either .

At 4pm a 400 pound blue marlin crashed the quickchange Baselisk and stayed connected .It was not hooked but the hook stayed around the bill until we had the fish on the leader. Matthias caught one about 150 pounds and raised a nice one in the morning. Olaf Grimkowski

Shy3 went out to the east side of ascension fishing marlin lures. We saw nothing but two enemies (wahoos) and one did some damage ( the otherone got damaged himselfe and ended as sushi on the dinnertable). Around noon we went to the SW and got one bite of a 300poundish blue that got billwrapped after attaking the quickchange 22 Baselisk from Roddy.It came off imidiatly. A bit later we had a knockdown of a sailfish. Matthias caught 1/2 on small blues. Olaf Grimkowski

We spend the morning fixing the steeringsystem of SHY III and started fishing ascension s west side in the afternoon. We had a bite of a sailfish and raised one more. Matthias caught 1 out of two small blue marlin bites. Olaf Grimkowski

We fished The SW of the island again but we didn´t see any sailfish.At 1 30 we got a bite of a small blue marlin on the ST prowler but pulled the hook. I went to the westside and at 3 pm we caught a 250 pounder also on the ST prowler. At 5 oclock we got a bite on Hawaian Breakfast and the fish was on. It took a lot of line and went deep. After one hour we got her up and a very tired fish came along the boat. She was big and I took the measurements. As the formula said 970 pounds and the tailmeasurement was 20 inch we decided to weigh the fish. After a lot of trouble getting the fish up the pierhead without a crane (and ripping the gills out pulling it up) we organized a forklift to finaly get the weight of the leftovers. The scale showed 918 pounds.

SHY 3 started fishing in the SW of ascension arround 10am and we saw lots of billfish again . First we caught a white marlin on the ST prowler. 10 minutes later a 600 pound blue marlin took the blue breakfast and we fought it for 15 minutes until the hook fell of him while the fish was slowly swimming 20 meters under the boat. After that we caught two nice size sailfish on the hawaian breakfast. and raised at least another 10 of them. Nearly a grand slam damn ! Matthias caught a sailfish out of lots of bites as well.

Today Dietmar from austria arrived and we started fishing ascension s SW side around 11 am. We raised about 10 sailfish and had a few knockdowns on our marlin lures but non of the "sea turts" got stuck. At 5 pm we had an unexpected bite of an angry 750 pounder that took the blue breakfast on the short corner. The fish stayed on the surface and after just 10 minutes we had the fish on the leader and released it. Matthias caught two sailfish and also fishes on the mooring tonight.

We first raised a 500 pound blue marlin that didn´t bite. Than we had a couple of sailfish up and caught one of the on the striper candy. A bit later we caught a 350 pounder on the blue breakfast.

Harmattan spend half a day marlin fishing and saw nothing the rest of the day they spend inshore.

Today was totally different then yesterday it was very calm and we raised a doubleheader of sailfish in the morning. That was it.

Harmattan raised 3 sails and caught tuna and jacks on the mooring.

Not to forget we raised a 10000 pound whaleshark ha ha !

Today was a very very very frustrating day for us.

The best about it is that the billfish are back in numbers again !

So we saw 11 billfish today and got 7 bites. Out of these bites 3 were defenetly blue marlin (700,500+?) and the rest might have been sailfish or tiny blues (wich I never saw here in numbers) so I guess at least the big majority of them were sails. The same with the raised fish.

It was extremely rough today and huge swells kept my attention for quiet some time so I´m not so shure . By the way we caught nothing,nada,niente or f…k all. I tell you I smoked a lot of cigarettes today !

Harmattan raised two small billfish? And had one knockdown they never saw.

We didn´t fish the last two days but Harmattan pulled the hook on one yesterday (400) and lost two (400 and 600 pounds) today.

I didn´t expect much today . It was raining all over the place and no wind (what normally doesn´t produce much here). In addition to that we only had time until 3 o clock pm because of Jo´s and Kurts flight today but it was enough.

Around 9 30 it started to clear up a bit and our normal wind came back . At 10 am a nice fish crashed the Blue Breakfast and was on .After some jumps the fish went deep and we got her slowly up to the surface .

The 700 pounder had the leader wrapped around her mouth and was very tired but after 10 minutes on the snooter it got back color and started kicking its tail again .

Very happy about the good last day result we thought our job was done but at noon another nice one first missed the Prorange Andromeda but in the second try she had it . Very unhappy the Lady broke the surface a couple of times and ran away on the surface. I turned the boat and came close pretty soon after 15 minutes we had the fish on the leader and managed to let her go.

I estimated her weight at around 900 pounds.

Not a bad day in Ascension Island !

Harmattan is still fishing and as long as  we had contact they pulled the hook on a 400 pounder and saw a 700 pounder free swimming in front of the boat.

Today we only saw 1  very small blue that knocked down the hawaian Breakfast.

Harmattan saw nothing and caught some wahoos later.

We had a bite of a 500 pounder on the pro range Andromeda at 11 .

At 2.30 we hooked a 400 pounder on the hawaian breakfast and caught it quick.

Harmattan caught one about 600.

We had a quiet morning today . We got our first knockdown at noon but the 400 pounder didn´t stick to the Hawaian Breakfast . At 3 oclock Kurt  caught a 350pounder on the same Lure. At 4.30 we had another bite knocking down two lures but no luck. 10 minutes later we hooked a nice one on the Andromeda (Ledgendlures) and we had a great fight with the 850 pounder After lots of jumps and runs close to the boat we released the fish .

Harmattan caught two around 300-350 pounds.

We saw nothing interesting today offshore so we caught a couple of dorados and bottomfish for the pan.

Harmattan pulled the hooks on two small blue marlin.

We went out at 12 today (Harmattan was already 1 for 3) and got the first bite of a 400 pound blue marlin half an hour later on the Big Rock Plunger by Bart but pulled the hook. One hour later we hooked a 500 pounder on the Super Plunger (Bart). The fish jumped in the line of the long rigger and got tangled up. Fortunately the fight with two rods was just for a few seconds and than we could fight the fish normally on the one that it was hooked on and released it.

After we changed the topshot we caught a 90 pound sailfish on the Big Rock Plunger.

In the evening we caught tunas on the mooring.

Harmattan went 2 for 5 . They caught 2 nice fish around 800 pounds and lost a 700 , a 350 and a small one.

We had our first bite at 10 am on the pro Range Merlin and pulled the hook on the 3-400 pounder. 12.30 we caught a small blue on the andromeda .

At 4.30 we had a crashbite on the blue breakfast but the fish missed the lure and just grabbed the leader in front of it. The fish was 600+.

Harmattan pulled the hook on a 600 as well.

We caught a 300 pound blue marlin on the Andromeda from Ledgendlures.

In the early afternoon we raised a fish around 500 pounds but no touch on any of the lures. A bit later we caught a sailfish on Roddys Prorange merlin .

We had a knockdown of a small blue in the morning. One hour later we caught a 400 pound blue marlin on the Bart Superplunger. Nothing in the afternoon for us ; that was the time of Harmattan . They also started with a knockdown of a small one and a bit later they called a hookup on a nice one . 1 and a half hours later I got to see how nice !Matthias called the fish 950+ but because it was in good condition they released the fish !

We went out at 8 30 and had our first fish again at 9 30 . The 200 pounder took the Super projet and was caught quick.

The rest of the day we raised 3 more blues (600, 400 and small) of wich two didn´t even come close to a lure and one looked like he couldn´t keep the speed of the boat.

In the afternoon we caught a 70 pound sailfish also on the super projet.

Harmattan didn´t see anything.

We went out at 9 am and had our first bite after 20 minutes .

The 600 pounder took the blue breakfast and put up a good fight with lots of jumps.

It had a crippled bill.

One hour later we had a bite of a small blue on the Ginky that jumped of after a few seconds.

In the afternoon we had another little guy that played with the Ginky and the super projet but it didn´t stick. I saw one more blue tailing on the surface but it never came in the spread.

Harmattan first pulled the hook on a small blue than caught one and in the afternoon they caught a 800 pounder.

We went inshorefishing today and caught tuna ,whahoo , dorado Jacks and loads of grouper for a friends freezer.

Harmattan caught Tuna and wahoo also and pulled the hook on a 500 pound blue marlin and raised a sailfish.

We will start proper fishing tomorrow again !

We went out for three hours funfishing and caught a 250 pound blue marlin on Black Barts Blue Breakfast after half an hour fishing.

We had our first bite on the Bart Super Plunger at 11 and pulled the hook after a long run .

12 30 we raised a nice blue but not enough interest to strike A while later we raised another small billfish and a bit later we caught a 70 pound sailfish on Roddys cupfaced Iduna.

2 30 our magic hour at the moment we hooked a 550 blue on the Ascension Projet and caught it after some nice jumps.

The fish were still her today .

After a quiet morning we pulled the hook on a 800 on the superprojet.

Five minutes later a 250 pounder crashed the Superplunger and we caught it quick.

10 minutes after that we hooked a 600pounder on the ST Thomas Prowler and released it after a nice fight .

Harmattan caught 1 Blue around 400 pounds and raised 1 more plus 1 sailfish.

There was still lots of marlin in the SW . We got a bite of a 400 pounder at 2 30 and pulled the hook on the Superprojet. A short while later we saw a fish in front of the boat swimming slowly past the spread without noticing but then around 3 30  a hungry fish found the Superprojet and got hooked. After a strong fight we released a 700 pounder!

In the evening we caught Tunas on the mooring and 1 800 pound sixgillshark.

Harmattan went 1 for 2 250pounds and raised anotherone plus two raised sailfish.

We saw 6 blue marlin today of wich 3 were sitting 10 foot behind the lure for a few seconds and faded away and the other three tried with one little knock to make me mad and they were suckcessfull. The biggest of them ;800 + got billwrapped for a few seconds and shook the Ginky of. We raised one sail also.

Harmattan saw 4 blues and was lucky enough to catch one of them.

We started at 11 in the SW and had a quiet start.

At 2 30 we got a bite of a blue marlin about 500 pounds that took Barts Super Plunger .

The fish took some line but came off before the gear was cleared.

10 minutes later we hooked a 200 pounder on the blue breakfast and caught it .

We raised another blue about 400 on the Ginky but it didn´t bite and faded away

Hi everybody !

I´m back on ascension and we did our first seatrial today !

It started well because we caught our first blue marlin before the first line was even in the outrigger ! It was not exactly a big one but it was the first blue of this season that took Roddys “Ginky”.

We caught a small yellowfin later and saw some promising birdaction in the north east.

Harmattan went inshorefishing and caught whahoos and tuna.

Statistics :

We fished about 25 days for marlin , had 27 bites and caught 16 blues since I have been here .

Today was our last fishingday of the season !

We caught a small blue marlin in the SW in the morning . It took the Super Projet from Black Bart.

We moved to the SE and in the early afternoon we had a bite on the Bart Superplunger. It was a nice fish around 700 pounds but unfortunetly we pulled the hooks after 5 minutes.

Harmattan missed two blues before we left .

Arround midday we raised a fish that knocked down three lures but it never got stuck either. There might have been a second fish involved in the confusion but we are not shure.

We started late today and had a knockdown of a 500 pounder on the merlin but we never hooked it. In the evening we caught plenty of yellowfin !

We didn´t fish the last 4 days but today we had an excellent day !

After half an hour trolling we hooked a 600 pounder on the Hot Breakfast of Black Bart and released it after a few minutes.

A bit later we hooked a very nice fish on Roddys blue glas Merlin !

It put up a great fight but after half an hour we released the 900 pounder !

In the afternoon we saw something freefeeding on the surface but we didn´t get a bite. Finally in the late afternoon we caught a 150pounder on the hot Breakfast again.

Harmattan had a bite of a small blue and raised a better one on a lifebait but it didn´t bite.

We spent the last week fishing for tuna,shark, jacks… We didn’t do much marlinfishing and caught plenty of yellowfin and jacks a 1000pound sixgill and bottomfish.

Harmattan fished for marlin on the 16^th  of February and caught a 1038 pound blue marlin !!!

Another grander in ascension !!!

We fished in the SW again and got two bites of blue marlin on the Merlin (Ledgend Lures) but we didn´t hook the 300 pounder , neither the 600+.

The early afternoon was quiet except two nasty dorado attacks.

One hour before the end of Bas charter we hooked his 10^th blue this trip

and it was a nice one that took the hot breakfast (Black Bart) .

After some nice jumps the 750pounder was at the stern of SHY III .

Next week we don´t fish !

We fished in the SW again and went ½ on sailfish and caught a small blue on the iduna we also caught a dorado and a small yellowfin.

We started in englishbay where we caught the fish yesterday but the morning was completely dead. Arround noon we went to the SW and at 3 we get a bite on the ascension projet.The 200 pounder was quickly caught and released.

Half an hour later the Iduna gets eaten and a fish of similar size comes to the boat.

We didn´t fish yesterday . Today we had some marlin action again !

It started with a bite on the 1656 wich was just a knock out of the clip at 9.30. At 12.30 a nice fish grabed the bridgeteaser and once that was gone it took Black Barts ascension projet .

We released the 550 pounder after some nice jumps.

At two we had another ring on the teaserdoor (abaco prowler Bart ) and the fish switched to the Andromeda (Legend Lures).

We released this 350 pounder and a bit later we had a mystery knockdown wich nobody saw and it didn´t leave any marks on the lure or hookset ?!

We did our roundtrip again and had 1 bite of a blue around 300 pounds on the 1656 from Bart Miller but we couldn´t stay connected.

We went around the Island today .At 3 in the afternoon we were nearly at the SE corner where a small blue came up on the Abaco prowler (our bridgeteaser)

Ian managed to take it out before it grabed it and the fish went strait to the Andromeda and got hooked.

5 minutes after releasing this 250 pounder we hooked a 175 pounder on the Iduna and caught this one as well .

We started in the SW again and had a bite on Roddys Andromeda but the hookes pulled after a few meters.

We went to englishbay but saw nothing else.

We had a really good day today !

We went back to the SW and had a bite of a 900+ blue on Black Barts Superplunger in the morning but it started jumping imidiatly and threw the hooks.

Later we had a bite on the ascension projet .The fish didn´t get hooked but it came back on Roddys Cupfaced Iduna and got stuck then.

The 650 pounder put up a great show of multiple jumps and long fast surface runs before Bas got it to the boat.

At 3.30 we hooked a 500 pounder on the andromeda and we caught that fish quiet quick. After that we had a couple of knockdowns of a sail or spearfish but it never got hooked.

We did a full marlinday in the SW and at around 2 we caught a 500 pounder on Roddys Andromeda !

The last three days we only caught small fish like dorados, wahoos and jacks.

Today we did nightfishing on the mooring and we caught tuna , a 100 pound galapagosshark and an 800pound sixgill !

We started late today and had one dorado trolling .On the mooring we caught 5 yellowfins and 1 sixgillshark of 1000+ pounds.

We did a full day marlintrolling today but no luck.

We didn´t see a marlin again but caught some jacks inshore. We are not fishing for the next week.

We started late again and caught one wahoo trolling.

On the mooring we had 5 yellowfins and a sixgillshark well over a 1000 pounds.

We started at 2 in the afternoon today and saw nothing trolling . On the mooring we caught some dorados ,6 yellowfins and one oilfish .

The morning was totally dead and in the afternoon we found a piece of wood with some dorados and wahoos around.

We caught some on small gear but that was it for today.
